Depending on the weather, there are usually two games played each session. Tournaments can be played as either individuals or teams, Doubles or Singles. Doubles wear Black hats and Singles wear White hats.

Also, depending on the number of players, each player will get two or three balls each. The more players the least number of balls. If there's an extra player in a team a third ball can be rotated amongst the players.

The object of the game is to be the first player or team to reach 13 points. A player/team gets one point by being closest to the "jack" or "cosh ball".  The player with the ball closest to the jack waits while the other players try to take a better position.  A single player can gain an extra point it their ball is touching the jack ball.
