The Marks Park Roaming Boules Association (MPRBA) was started in 1995 with a core group of players from the Bondi area who gathered in the park for an informal game of the international bowls game known as either boules, petanque or bocce. The game is played with (commonly) steel balls.
And yes it's the classic struggle, week by week, month by month and year by year of singles versus doubles, black versus white and ying versus yang.
Long term and new players will be featured here along with news and other media as it comes to hand. Here's a small selection.

After an hiatus (or is that a hiatus?) of a couple of lean years just dabbling in the really beautiful on an irregular basis, the old crew have come back with a vengeance. There's even been upgrades to the MPRBA clubhouse along with modern garden furniture for the spectators and a more safety compliant children's area for the young ones in the far northern corner of the facililty - we call it Siberia because we never go there.
Every year the Marks Park Roaming Boules Association allows the Waverly Council the use of the park to stage the Sculpture by the Sea exibition which lasts two weeks during late October and Early November. This year 2010 oneof our members was on hand to ensure the grounds were not too badly damaged by the huge crowds.
